MINISTRY OF EDUCATION TEAMS UP WITH PUBLISHERS FOR NEW CURRICULUM TEXT BOOKS
The Ministry of Education has officially handed over the developed syllabi for Zambia’s new curriculum to Book Publishers.
This marks the next critical step in delivering quality education materials.
Book Publishers now have five months to print and submit textbooks for evaluation, paving the way for their integration into classrooms nationwide.
Speaking at the handover ceremony in Lusaka today, Ministry of Education Permanent Secretary for Education Services, Dr. Kelvin Mambwe, emphasized the importance of producing accessible and well-crafted textbooks.
“Textbooks serve as vital guides not only for classroom teaching but also for daily life,” Dr. Mambwe noted.
He urged the publishers to prioritize high-quality content and make the resources easily accessible for students and teachers.
Receiving the soft copy syllabi, the Book Publishers Association of Zambia expressed their readiness to take on this important assignment.
Association Secretary, Mr. Elijah Chimbongwe, thanked the Ministry for entrusting the publishers with this responsibility and pledged their commitment to producing textbooks that align with the new curriculum.
This collaboration symbolizes a shared commitment to transforming Zambia’s education system through the delivery of effective and impactful learning materials.
