Govt Building 460 Early Childhood Education centers

Government is constructing over 460 Early Childhood Education centers across the country to create a conducive learning environment for young children.
Of the 460,440 are been built through the Zambia Enhancing Early Learning project, funded by the Global Partnership for Education, while the Zambian government is directly funding 20 centers.
And, Education Minister DOUGLAS SYAKALIMA says the ECE hubs are some of government’s initiatives aimed at enhancing educational infrastructure in the country.
In an interview, Mr. SYAKALIMA said the Early Childhood Education plays a crucial role in laying the groundwork for literacy and overall childhood development.
Meanwhile, Director of Early Childhood Education CHARM KALIMBIKA said the 440 centers include 110 Hub Centers and 330 Satellite Centers, specifically designed for children from birth to around six years old.
